SAFARIS EXTENSIONS

Zanzibar Safari Extension

Lying just off Tanzania's northern coast, Zanzibar makes the perfect place for a few days of pre- or post-safari relaxation. The "Isle of Spice" boasts a long, exciting history and uniquely romantic atmosphere. Clove trees grow everywhere, perfuming the air, and the beaches and coral reefs are just wonderful.

Itinerary

Days 1 and 2
Zanzibar

A two-hour flight from Nairobi whisks you to Zanzibar, where a uniformed Old Line Safari Company representative meets you on arrival in the afternoon, transporting you to the Zanzibar Serena Inn on the seafront of the old town. Linger over dinner for a leisurely evening. Your introduction to this uniquely romantic island begins with a city tour the next morning, as you explore the hustle and bustle of the marketplace, visit the Anglican Church, and tour the Zanzibar Museum. After lunching in town, you may while away the afternoon in the ancient Johani Forest, home of the red colobus monkey found nowhere else.
Day 3
Departure Day
Squeeze in a final shopping expedition in the old town or just relax at your hotel until lunch. Soon you must catch your flight back to Nairobi. You may spend the afternoon at leisure before a farewell dinner at a Nairobi hotel; then, it's time to transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departing international flight.
