SAFARIS EXTENSIONS

Glimpse of Tanzania Safari Extension

The Glimpse of Tanzania Safari Extension features an exciting stay at two of Africa's natural wonders: the self-contained world of Ngorongoro Crater and the wide open spaces of the famous Serengeti Game Reserve teeming with wildlife.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arusha

Transfer to Wilson airport to catch your 1230hrs flight to Arusha via Kilimanjaro arriving 1440 hrs. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a uniformed Old Line Safari Company representative and transferred to the Serena Mountain Village with a chance to sample the streets of Arusha for some souvenirs. Overnight at Serena Mountain Village.
Day 2
Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today, you drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for lunch and a siesta at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Your evening is spent viewing game on the crater floor. The 100-square-mile crater—a natural sanctuary for more than 25,000 animals, including the black rhino—is so spectacular it touches all of the senses.

Days 3 and 4
Serengeti National Park

An early wakeup call rouses you for your descent again to the floor of the great volcanic caldera for a morning game drive. You ascend the crater for lunch and drive to the famous wildlife plains of the Serengeti National Park, where you'll check into the impressive Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge or Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp to enjoy two days of spectacular game-viewing. Derived from the Maasai word siringet, meaning endless plains, the Serengeti is one of the world's last great wildlife refuges.

Day 5
Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you drive through the conservation area, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, often referred to as the "Cradle of Mankind," an archeological site made famous by the Leakey family as they traced the origins of man. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route to the Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, strategically located at a vantage point overlooking Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 6
Departure Day
Transfer to Arusha Airport to catch your 1230hrs onward flight back to Nairobi arriving at 1500 hours. Afternoon at leisure and open for any last minute adventure. Final dinner hosted by part of The Old Line Safari team before your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
